The Role
At Last Mile Health, we are all stewards of our reputation and resources. Are you a strong relationship manager with experience supporting complex and high-impact global partnerships and coalitions? If so, you may be our next Strategic Partnerships Manager on the Community Health Academy (Academy) team.
Reporting the the Executive Director, Community Health Academy, the Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for (1) relationship development and management in support of medium and long term non-funding collaborations across the Community Health Academy workstreams (health system leadership development, clinical education, and technology), and (2) supporting the Academy’s cross-departmental advocacy and partnership initiatives.
The Manager will communicate and coordinate closely with the Academy team, Partnership & Communications team, Health Systems team, anchor country leadership, and external stakeholders to align objectives and provide strategic advice to help ensure successful and sustainable implementation and socialization of the Academy’s strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Support, and when required, represent the Executive Director in the formulation and ongoing coordination of the Academy’s involvement in strategic partnerships, coalitions, and programmatic relationships, including:
- Establishing and leading implementation of due diligence frameworks/processes for reviewing existing and prospective partners
- Setting and implementing individualized cultivation and stewardship strategies for each prospective government/academic/programmatic partners
- Actively engage with external partners on behalf of the Academy towards achievement of systems change.
- Support production of communications collateral, such as briefing documents, multi- media presentations, and talking points in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Communications team for all Academy coalition involvement
- In collaboration with Executive Director and relevant stakeholders, shape, influence, and support the Academy’s policy stance and strategic priorities related to strategic partnerships and identify and leverage international forums to serve as advocacy platforms
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Several years of experience managing partners relationships, coalitions, or private-public partnerships in a global health setting and across multiple sectors and countries
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in multi- stakeholder/consortium/coalition building, project management, and partnerships development and management
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently with limited structural support
- Successful and proven negotiation, communication, networking, and organization skills
- Ability to translate strategic guidance into analytical products, and vice versa
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including across cultures and backgrounds
- Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in time-sensitive manner
You’ll Impress Us If
- You have MBA, MPP, or related Master’s degree
- You are fluent in additional languages spoken in the countries the Academy works
