General Position Summary
The Non-Profit Management Intern will directly support Harvard Medical School faculty member and CEO of Last Mile Health, Raj Panjabi, while being managed by the HR/Operations Officer, by undertaking administrative duties in the Executive management functional area. The person selected for this role will contribute to special projects for the CEO and executive team and have the opportunity to work on the development of the Community Health Academy, established with the 2017 TED Prize. This opportunity will give the intern an inside look on how a non-profit is managed, build key communication skills, and have the opportunity to liaise with multiple cross-functional departments.
Essential Job Functions
Meeting Support
- Coordinate all support aspects of CEO meetings, conferences, and key stakeholder communications
- Supporting an active calendar of meetings and appointments; composing and preparing correspondence; arranging complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries
- Work in coordination with the Partnerships & Development team to update activities in SalesForce following conferences attended by Last Mile Health leadership
Business Development
- Provide coordination for a small start-up team focused on business development pertaining to the Community Health Academy
- Assist with follow-up from external meetings and join internal meetings focused on planning for the launch of Community Health Academy
- Work alongside the Community Health Academy team to assist with the development of materials for dispersal to external stakeholders about the project
Project Development
- Support the CEO on Last Mile Health’s FY18 initiatives and additional projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and social media platforms.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff and external vendors
- Expert-level written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
