Essential Job Functions
The key deliverables of the RM&E Health Informatics Specialist are as follows:
- Develop use case scenarios and form requirements: Develop a 5-10-page document that outlines different use cases for each mHealth form. These scenarios should include thoroughly-developed user stories, map out “branching” logic of the xForms, and describe the reason why a user would take each branch.
- Develop new xForm package that utilizes summary statistics and case management:Coordinate development of new xForms with the RM&E Manager, Data Systems that utilize new functionality in version 4.0 of LODK. The contractor is responsible for coordinating code development and bug checking, and has the ultimate responsibility of the quality of the final build. The final product should be a single Last Mile Update (.LMU) file type that can be rolled out remotely.
- Develop video training materials: Create mHealth training videos that demonstrate to the end users - CHAs and CHSSs - how to use each form and the view cases and summary statistics functionality. Coordinate the development of raw footage as needed, and edit footage to create 45-60 minutes of video training materials.
- LODK 4.0 Developers Guide: Modify the document, Liberia ODK Technical Manual for App-Builders to include detailed information on how to develop xForms that use case management and summary statistics in Liberia ODK 4.0.
Qualifications
- At least 5 or more years’ experience in providing technology-related support for public health and/or international development, managing applied technology projects and/or providing strategic direction to applied technology projects
- Experience assessing the landscape for potential applied technology interventions and analyzing and recommending appropriate solutions
- Experience working in developing countries and/or supporting and managing projects in the developing world programs
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work comfortably with CommCare and ODK Collect
- Familiarity with programming languages and software development methodologies and environments is a plus but not required
