The Role

The Program Innovation Specialist plays a key role in advancing the success and impact of the National CHA Program by supporting Last Mile Health’s efforts to assist the County Health Team in sustainably implementing innovative projects focused on expanding access to care in Liberia’s remote communities.

The Program Innovation Specialist will work together with Quality Assurance Officers (QAOs), the county Capacity-Building Specialist, Community Health Services Supervisors (CHSSs), Community Health Assistants (CHAs), and County Health Team colleagues to implement innovation projects related to immunization, nutrition, and family planning at a high degree of quality and with a focus on sustainability via government ownership.

This is a clinical position.

What You'll Do

  • Support implementation of a two-year, US $2 million, Gavi-funded project to achieve equity in immunization coverage amongst remote communities in Rivercess County.
  • Engage in Reporting and Quality Assurance
  • Support implementation of an expanded package of nutrition-promotion interventions at the levels of the community and health facility.
  • Regularly develop project narrative reports, activity budgets, liquidation reports, and status updates
  • Serve as a liaison between the Programs Team and RM&E to ensure consistent monitoring of project progress
  • Support preparation for and facilitation of key program quality and progress review meetings at the county level
  • Support planning and execution of logistical arrangements for training activities, project supervision and funder visits, capacity building exercises, workshops, and other activities as-assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 4-5 years professional experience
  • Clinical credential required (e.g. BSN, RN, CM, PA)
  • 2-4 years of clinical experience required
  • At least one year of continuous, committed clinical service in a rural or remote location
  • Experience with immunization, nutrition, and/or family planning projects
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating productive, collaborative relationships between NGO and government stakeholders preferred
  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
  • Basic computer and digital literacy (email, Google Calendar, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage thoughtfully with vulnerable populations, communities, and individuals to design, implement, and evaluate health-related programming

You'll Impress Us If

  • You have advanced project management skills and experience
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree
  • You have experience with training and/or clinical coaching
  • You have more than two years of continuous, committed clinical service in a rural or remote location
