Position Summary

Working in partnership with Liberia’s Ministry of Health (MOH), alongside notable implementing partners, Last Mile Health is supporting the government in designing and rolling out a national community health workforce (CHW) program built on a network of trained community health workers providing essential health services to Liberia’s most remote populations. This national program aims to provide equitable access to health care services to the population of Liberia by strengthening community health interventions through a national standardized community health package of services to be provided by trained, deployed, and motivated community health workers.

LMH is seeking a Financial Management Officer for an upcoming World Bank-funded community-based health project. The Financial Management Officer will work with LMH’s Finance and Administration team to ensure the responsible management and execution of all budgeted activities including compliance and reporting activities. This position is contingent upon award of funds.

Essential Job Functions

· Working with LMH’s Financial and Administration Teams, responsible for the management and execution of project budget including developing and revising budgets or financial plans related to execution of project

· Support compliance to financial best practice and oversee operating expenses related to implementation of the Community Health Workforce Program

· Report financial transactions quarterly to contract supervision and management bodies

· Provide supervision and support related to payment of community health workforce cadres

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

· Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Financial Management or Banking and Finance, Masters is an advantage

· 5 years relevant work experience in reporting for Donors or Multilateral institutions like the WB, EU, EC, AfDB, IMF, USAID, GAVI, etc.

· Fully proficient in the following software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Commitment: 40 hours per week, minimum 12 month commitment

Location: Monrovia, Liberia

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience; housing, and medical benefits available

Reports to: Finance Director, Liberia
