The Role
At Last Mile Health, we are all stewards of our reputations and our resources. Do you have experience applying accounting principles to support revenue recognition of donor funds while working alongside a growing accounting team? If so, you may be our next (Senior) Revenue Accountant.
Reporting to the Controller, the (Senior) Revenue Accountant manages the daily financial reporting, accounting for revenue, and provides global compliance oversight. This position also works closely with Last Mile Health’s Grants Management function and the Senior Grant Accountant to provide accounting and grant support services to meet the needs of the organization and its partners.
What You'll Do
- Lead proper revenue treatment in compliance with International Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and US federal regulation requirements accordance with GAAP, including responsibilities around recording revenue, performing net asset roll forward, and tracking restricted cash
- Manage the accounts receivable function and support in managing billings to this function
- Record cash receipts from donors in Netsuite and communicate with the Partnerships team for tracking and acknowledgment
- Perform monthly revenue, cash, and accounts receivable reconciliations to align with Finance and Partnerships records
- Support the Senior Grant Accountant on pre-award and post-award guidance to the Partnerships and Grants Management teams
- Lead in the posting and reconciliation of payroll and manage staff allocations tied to this account
What You'll Bring
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Progressive experience in accounting roles
- Previous non-profit experience
- Demonstrated familiarity with diverse accounting functions
- Demonstrated computer skills and systems proficiency
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar finance software, including the ability to design appropriate and useful management reports and demonstrate aptitude to identify problems in financial reports and implement required changes
- Demonstrated familiarity with diverse accounting functions

- You have worked as an accountant for a non-profit or for-profit company with offices across multiple continents
- You have processed and recorded payments across multiple currencies
