The Role

The Last Mile Health (LMH) Board of Directors and Senior Leadership are seeking a Consultant to support in undertaking a review of the Board’s current structure and provide recommendations for best practices in maintaining excellence in governance and future sustainability during a period of high-growth and change within the organization.

The Consultant will present their findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors with a focus on key areas for development moving forward.

Project Details:

  • Commitment – 1 month (estimated dates are July 6th-August 7th, 2020)
  • Location – Remote
  • Remuneration – Maximum estimated fees upon completion are expected to total $6,500. Consultant will be paid upon completion of each deliverable or according to a mutually agreed upon timeline.

What You'll Do

Conduct an assessment and develop a set of tools to respond to the following topical areas:

  • Review of LMH’s board structure, size, composition.
  • Do we have the right size Board given LMH’s annual operating budget and scope of work?
  • Do we have the appropriate committees? Are we missing any?
  • Is the Board operating best-in-class from a Governance and bylaws perspective?
  • Board recruitment, retainment and succession planning.
  • How are we doing with pipeline development/new board member recruitment?
  • Does the board composition have the relevant experience, expertise and perspectives to help LMH achieve it’s strategy/mission?
  • Diversity and inclusion.
  • Conduct an assessment of where the board stands on diversity and support in the development of explicit goals for representation.
  • Board role and impact.
  • What are best practices/guidelines/learnings on what level of detail the Board should be operating at or key areas of focus/structure of board meetings to have the greatest impact?
