The Development Associate is a critical member of the Partnerships & Development (P&D) department, providing ownership and assuming responsibility for the P&D knowledge management platform, SalesForce. In this role, she/he acts as the primary database administrator - developing processes that govern the database, driving primary inputs to the system and crafting reports and tools needed for support to the P&D and the organization at-large. The Development Associate is also responsible for key administrative tasks such as donation processing and running donor lists for mailings and fundraising campaigns, such as the annual appeal. She/he will conduct research and provide administrative support to conferences and events. Job description could be augmented to include content generation and proposal writing depending on qualification and experience of applicants.

Essential Job Functions

Database and Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate and drive cross-team functions and tools by working closely with representatives of various Last Mile Health departments
  • Determine security permissions for all SalesForce users; ensure that data standards are set and adhered to throughout the organization
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing systems support to database users in SalesForce, Cirrus Insight, and related tools; fulfill users’ report requests; create customized reports as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of SalesForce features, functionality, and enhancements; provides recommendations for systems improvements, and implements new functionalities
  • Improve and create database policies, procedures and standards, and serve as Last Mile Health’s point of contact for SalesForce, Cirrus Insight, and other tools related to administration of the knowledge management platform.

Financial Reporting

  • Provide regular financial reports to organizational leadership for progress toward fundraising targets

Donation Acknowledgement & Award Processing

  • Process incoming grant agreements
  • Support monthly revenue reconciliation
  • Ensure timely gift acknowledgement and processing in coordination with other team members
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with donation acknowledgement policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and quality inputs of all revenue data into Salesforce

Administrative Support

  • Provide support for meetings, events and fundraising campaigns
  • Research prospective funding partners and provide recommendations for areas of alignment and strategies for engagement
  • Ideal candidate could contribute to writing of concept notes and proposals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 – 2 years of working experience in a development capacity with a database like Salesforce, or similar knowledge management platform
  • Experience working at a non-profit organization
  • Quantitative skills and experience in crafting tools and reports from raw data
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptionally strong attention to detail
  • Analytical skills and logical thinking
  • Independence and ability to advance projects under own initiative
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills: ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across teams and countries
  • Commitment to health and social justice
